Seven Broncos listed in final NHL Central Scouting rankings

Seven members of the Swift Current Broncos were listed on the NHL Central Scouting final rankings on Thursday. All seven players that recently skated in the IIHF U18 World Championship in Germany were listed amongst the top prospects for the 2022 National Hockey League Draft, which will take place on July 7-8 in Montreal.

Defenseman Owen Pickering led the way, ranked 15th amongst North American Skaters after being named one of Canada’s top three players at the World Championship.

Forward Josh Filmon was next at 38th amongst North American skaters after leading the Broncos with 23 goals this season.

Josh Davies has climbed the ranks to 69th amongst North American Skaters.

Forward Connor Hvidston is now ranked 107th after a strong second half of the season and an appearance for Canada in Germany.

Forward Mathew Ward checked in 137th after representing his country and seeing time on the top line.

Defenseman Rayan Bettahar is ranked 188th after his season in Swift Current before representing the host nation in the U18 World Championship.

Goaltender Reid Dyck is now ranked eighth amongst North American Goaltenders after earning the number one spot for Canada in Germany.
