Three members of the Swift Current Broncos participated in the Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Kitchener, ON on Wednesday.
Broncos defenseman Owen Pickering finished with a plus-one rating as Team White skated to the 3-1 victory over Team Red, which featured forward Josh Filmon and goaltender Reid Dyck.
Team White outshot Team Red 39-20 overall and got goals from Jagger Firkus, Jake Karabela, and Nathan Gaucher after Shane Wright had opened the scoring for Team White only 3:43 into regulation.
Dyck played the final 29:56 and stopped all 23 shots he faced.
The event featured 40 of the Canadian Hockey League’s top prospects for the 2022 NHL Draft. It began on Tuesday with the on-ice Sports Testing Combine. Filmon turned heads when he won the Reaction drill in 9.184 seconds and was fourth in the Reaction With Puck drill in 9.935 seconds.
