The Swift Current Southwest Terminal U13 AA Broncos won four straight games to claim gold at their 12-team home tournament over the weekend.
Friday, the Broncos got points from 11 different skaters in a 9-3 win over the Regina Tigers as Cade Mitchell earned the win in goal.
Jamie Kirwan led the Broncos with one goal and three assists, followed by a hat trick from Carter Moen and one goal and two assists from Kasey Gleim. Kadyn Olfert added a goal and an assist, while Jaxson Squires chipped in two assists.
Jake Hargave and Hunter Wilm also scored. Ryder Leshures, Alexander Erickson, Taye Silbernagel, and Tysen Kobley all added assists.
The U13 AA Broncos followed up with a 6-2 win over the Saskatoon Mission when Hudson Rijvers picked up the win in goal. Wilm paced the offense with two goals and one assist and Olfert added three assists. Hargrave added a goal and an assist and Kirwan had a two-assist outing. Moen, Kyler Duclos, and Dane Irwin also scored. Gleim and Kobley added single helpers.
Saturday, the U13 Broncos defeated the Regina Mustangs 3-0 to advance to the championship game as Mitchell picked up the shutout in goal. Squires and Wilm led the Broncos with a goal and an assist each. Olfert also scored and Hargrave added an assist.
Sunday, the Broncos closed out the championship run with a 3-1 win over the Prairie Storm. Gleim scored twice and Moen added a goal and an assist. Kirwan, Hargrave, and Kobley all added assists as Mitchell earned the win in goal.
The Broncos will play their only league game in the month of December on Saturday when they host the Melville Millionaires at 5:30 p.m. at Fairview East Arena.
