A member of the Swift Current Innovation Credit Union U18 AAA Wildcats has been invited to the Hockey Canada U18 Summer Showcase Development Camp for a fourth consecutive year.
Ava Metzger was one of 26 forwards invited to the 46-player camp, which will be held in Calgary from July 29 – August 5. The Moosomin product finished the abbreviated 2020-21 season with two goals and three assists in five regular season games in the Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League.
She previously registered 11 points in 30 games with the Saskatoon Stars in 2019-20 and 14 points in 28 games in 2018 with the Melville Prairie Fire.
Metzger, 17, recently committed to Mount Royal University for the 2022-23 season.
She follows in the footsteps of recent Wildcats Baylee Kirwan (2020), Taylor Lind (2019), and Taylor Kirwan (2018) in attending the Summer Showcase.
