Cole Nagy’s hat trick helped the Swift Current Broncos to their first two-game winning streak of the season with a 4-2 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors in their second last game of the season on Sunday.
The Broncos (6-16-1-0) have now won three of their last five games as they approach their final game on Wednesday at 8 p.m. against the Prince Albert Raiders.
Isaac Poulter made 36 saves on 38 shots as the Broncos tied the season series 2-2 with the Warriors. Brett Mirwald took the loss with 28 saves for the Warriors.
The Broncos took the lead with a Raphael Pelletier power play goal in the first period as he knocked home a puck from a scramble.
The Warriors tied the game early in the second period when Riley Krane scored, but Nagy quickly replied with a spinning shot from the high slot to restore the lead. Cole Jordan tied the game again for the Warriors midway through the middle stanza.
Nagy notched the game winner midway through the third period with a power play goal and then completed the hat trick with 39 seconds remaining into an empty net.
