The Swift Current Broncos added another defenseman to their roster when they claimed overager Owen Williams off waivers from the Seattle Thunderbirds on Monday. The Delta, B.C. product is a veteran of 190 games since breaking into the league with the Regina Pats.
While in Seattle, the 6’1’’, 195-pound blueliner registered eight goals and 34 assists in 161 games after being acquired at the 2018 trade deadline.
The Broncos 2020-21 roster now features 15 forwards, eight defensemen, and goaltenders Isaac Poulter and Reid Dyck as of Monday. Williams joins veterans Alex Moar, Sam McGinley, and Kaleb Bulych, along with newcomers Cayde Augustine, Devin Aubin, Daylan Weigel and Owen Pickering on the blueline depth chart.
