Braydon Coburn will join his fourth National Hockey League team. Months after winning the Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Shaunavon native was traded to the Ottawa Senators.
Coburn was dealt to Ottawa along with Cedric Paquette and a 2022 NHL Draft second round pick. The Lightning received Anders Nilsson Marian Gaborik in return.
Coburn registered four points in 40 regular season games in 2019-20. He appeared in three playoff games as the Lightning won the Stanley Cup in the bubble in Edmonton. He is a veteran of 964 regular season games and 137 playoff games with the Lightning, Philadelphia Flyers, and Atlanta Thrashers after being drafted eighth overall in 2003.
The 6’5’’ blueliner waived his no-trade clause to join the Senators and has one year left on a two-year contact with an average annual salary of $1.7 million.
