Shaunavon’s Kole Lind and three members of the Swift Current Broncos were among the players revealed in the NHL Central Scouting Midterm Rankings on Wednesday.
Lind, a 6’1’’ forward with the Kelowna Rockets, has risen all the way to the first round of the North American Skaters rankings in 21st spot. He is currently tied for 17th in Western Hockey League scoring with 52 points in 44 games.
Broncos’ import forward Aleksi Heponiemi is now a second-round prospect, 36th amongst North American skaters. The Finland native leads all WHL rookies with 54 points in 46 games this season.
Russian defenseman Artyom Minulin is also rated as a second rounder, 49th overall. The 6’2’’ blueliner has already passed his rookie scoring totals with 34 points in 43 games this season and also has a plus-13 rating.
Broncos’ sniper Tyler Steenbergen has finally caught the attention of Central Scouting in the midterm rankings. He is listed in the fifth round, 138th overall. The 5’10’’ forward is currently second in the WHL with 34 goals in 46 games and also sits eighth with 59 points during his third season with the Broncos.
