Swift Current’s Kalea Sauder capped her rookie season as a member of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies with an eighth-place finish in the pentathlon at U SPORTS Nationals in Edmonton on Thursday.
Sauder placed seventh in the 60 meter hurdles in 9.26 seconds. She was eighth in the 800 metres in 2:48.94.
She also finished 10th in the high jump after clearing the bar at 1.52 metres. Sauder finished eighth in shot put at 9.57 metres. She placed seventh in the long jump with a top effort of 5.28 metres.
Sauder finished with 3,113 points over the five events. The Regina Cougars’ Joely Welburn won the event with 4,055 points.
