Wildcats forwards conclude round robin at U18 Nationals

Two members of the Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats are representing Saskatchewan at the 2019 National Women’s Under-18 Championship in Morden and Winkler, MB.

Sara Kendall (Ponteix) and Baylee Kirwan (Gull Lake) helped Saskatchewan to a 1-1-1-0 record to finish second in Group A during the round robin. 

Saskatchewan opened the tournament with a 3-2 win over Alberta on Tuesday. They added a 3-2 shootout win over Team Atlantic on Wednesday when Kendall scored in the seven-round shootout.

Thursday, Saskatchewan lost 4-2 to Ontario Red. Kirwan picked up an assist on an Ashley Messier power play goal in the season period.

Saskatchewan will play in the semi-final on Friday.

Kendall currently leads the SFMAAAHL with seven goals and 10 assists in seven league games. Kirwan is second with 12 points in seven games.
