Alexandre and Murdoch to compete at Canada Cup

Swift Current’s Brody Alexandre and Ethan Murdoch will both represent Saskatchewan at the 2019 Bigs Seeds Baseball 17U Canada Cup. The 10 provincial all-star team event will take place in Regina on August 7-11.

Alexandre hit .297 and had a .486 on-base percentage in 26 regular season games with the Swift Current 18U AAA 57’s in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League. The third baseman finished with seven doubles, two home runs, 20 runs batted in, and 24 runs scored. He also stole eight bases without being caught.

Murdoch finished with a .333 average and a .462 OBP. He had 10 doubles, two home runs, 27 RBI and 21 runs scored in 27 games with the 57’s.

Jackson Fraser, a 6’7’’ pitcher from Wymark who attends the Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Academy, was also named to the 20-man roster.

Saskatchewan will open the tournament on August 7 against Quebec.
