The Frontier Days Rodeo was hampered by poor weather and it was an uncharacteristically quiet weekend for local cowboys as the rodeo only managed to get two performances in.

Hazenmore’s Chanse Switzer placed second in Bull Riding when he rode Merlin Longback for 83 points and $1,030.

Val Marie’s Colt Kornfeld added a third-place finish in Tie Down Roping in 12.2 seconds for $342.

Three Southwest teams found the money in Team Roping at Frontier Days, led by Cadillac’s Tony and Kelton Lang, who tied for third in 10.6 seconds for $891. Hazenmore’s Ben Switzer worked with Matt Switzer (Moose Jaw) to place fifth in 11.1 seconds for $486. Maple Creek’s Tyler and Adam Gilchrist finished in 13.4 seconds to place sixth for $270.

Cadillac’s Tony and Kelton Lang tied for third in Team Roping at the Frontier Days Rodeo in Swift Current on June 28, 2019.

A pair of Southwest cowgirls made their way into the Ladies Barrel Racing pay window. Hazenmore’s Barbara Switzer placed fourth in 17.63 seconds for $352. Cadillac’s Brooke Lang was sixth in 17.75 seconds for $126.

The Canadian Cowboys Association will hold rodeos in Yorkton and Moosomin this weekend.
