The Swift Current 57’s opened the Western Canadian Baseball League season with a comeback walk-off win on Thursday over the visiting Weyburn Beavers.
The 57’s scored twice in the 10th inning to erase a one-run deficit for a 9-8 win, capped by a James Moses single to score Toren Brozovich.
The 57’s trailed 7-3 after five innings but forced extras with a four-run seventh inning.
The two teams combined for five home runs, including two-run home runs from Brozovich and Jared Binsfield for the 57’s.
Brandon Scott earned the win as he got the final eight outs while allowing two hits and one run with four strikeouts along the way.
First baseman Jack Large finished the game with two hits and three runs batted in.
The 57’s will be right back at home on Thursday when they host the Moose Jaw Miller Express at 7:05 p.m.
