Raiders clinch top spot at Broncos expense

The Swift Current Broncos were on the tracks as the train was coming through on Tuesday.

The host Prince Albert Raiders clinched top spot in the Western Hockey League regular season with a 6-0 win over the Broncos. It marks the second time the Raiders have won the Scotty Munro Trophy after posting a 58-11-3 record in 1984-85.

The Raiders improved to 51—9-2-2, while the Broncos dropped to 10-46-4-2 with their 15th consecutive loss as the two teams are now separated by 80 points in the standings.

Justin Nachbaur scored twice, while Sergei Sapego, Dante Hannoun, Aliaksei Protas, and Eric Pearce also counted for the Raiders.

Ian Scott made 24 saves for his 35th win and sixth shutout of the season.

The Broncos will return to Prince Albert for their sixth of seven straight road games on Friday.
