Broncos suffer worst loss of the season

The Swift Current Broncos suffered their worst lost of the season in an 11-1 setback against the host Edmonton Oil Kings during a Tuesday morning contest.

The Oil Kings got goals from eight different skaters, led by two goals and two assists from former Bronco Andrew Fyten. David Kope and Scott Atkinson also had two-goal outings for Edmonton, who improved to 35-18-4-4 to lead the Central Division.

Josh Williams, Trey-Fix Wolansky, Jake Neighbours, Vince Loschiavo, and Vladimir Alistrov also scored.

Broncos captain Tanner Nagel scored the game’s opening goal for the Broncos, who dipped to 10-43-3-2 with their 11th straight loss.

Neither Bronco goaltender had much success. Starter Isaac Poulter allowed eight goals over 42:56. Veteran Riley Lamb made 12 saves on 15 shot during a 17:04 stint. Todd Scott earned the win with 16 saves on 17 shots.

The game was played before a crowd of 13,186 fans, mostly school children, at Rogers Place. The Broncos will have to rebound quickly when they play another morning game in Calgary in front of another large crowd of school kids on Wednesday.
