The Swift Current Broncos didn’t appear to have much in the tank during a 2-0 loss to the visiting Kootenay Ice on Tuesday.

Playing their sixth home game in 12 days, the Broncos managed just 16 shots in the loss as they were shutout for the sixth time this season.

Jaeger White opened the scoring 51 seconds into the second period when he one-timed a four-on-four goal home for his 17th of the season.

Peyton Krebbs added a power play goal early in the third period to make it 2-0.

Isaac Poulter took the loss with 32 saves to fall to 2–10-0-0.

Jesse Makaj earned his first career shutout with 16 saves to improve to 2-15-4-1. His only other WHL win came on October 30 in Swift Current.

The Broncos fell to 9-31-2-1, while Kootenay improved to 9-29-6-1 as they snapped a nine-game losing streak.

The Broncos will conclude their seven-game home stand on Friday when they host the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Bronco Bits: 16-year-old forward Alex Thacker made his WHL debut. The Fort Saskatchewan native was a sixth-round pick, 117th overall, in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft. He had 27 points in 29 games with his hometown team in the Alberta Major Midget Hockey League this season and also skated in two games for the Whitecourt Wolverines in the AJHL this season. The Broncos were without forwards Eric Houk, Ben King, Tyler Lees, and Kye Buchanan due to injury and illness.
