The Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats are suddenly the hottest team in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League with four straight wins after a pair of one-goal victories in Melville over the weekend.
Saturday, Taylor Lind took over the league scoring lead when she was in on all three goals in a 3-2 win over the host Melville Prairie Fire.
Lind finished with two goals and one assist, including the game-winning goal with 11:04 remaining in the third period.
Carissa Hogan added a goal and an assist. Maddy McCleary and Brooklyn Rublee picked up single assists. Amaya Giraudier made 29 saves in the win.
Megan Hayhurst and Allison Hayhurst scored for Melville, while Cheyenne Jamieson made 37 saves in the loss.
The Wildcats followed up with another 3-2 win on Sunday. Lind was in on all three goals again with a goal and two assists.
Kendall finished with a goal and an assist. Hogan also scored, while Madison Garrett and Baylee Kirwan both picked up assists.
Giraudier earned another win with 21 saves on 23 shots to improve to 8-7-0-0 on the season.
Halle Bowles and Jordyn Bear scored for the Prairie Fire, who dropped to 6-10-2-1.
The Wildcats moved into fourth spot in the SFMAAAHL with a 10-9-0-1 record. Lind now leads the league with 25 assists and 40 points in 20 games this season.
The Wildcats will host the Battlefords Sharks (6-10-4-3) on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Gull Lake as a part of the Hockey Day in Saskatchewan celebrations. They also play Sunday at 2:15 p.m. at Fairview West Arena.
