Swift Current Wildcats forward Taylor Lind has been named the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League 2nd Star for the month of December.

The Shaunavon native totaled four goals and seven assists in six games during the month as the Wildcats finished with a 3-3 record.

“Taylor brings a strong work ethic each day both in practices and in games,” said coach Terry Pavely. “She works hard on her fitness as well. Taylor is a very skilled player with a competitive spirit. She can play in all situations for the Wildcats and has become a reliable defensive player and is solid in the face-off circle.”

Lind had already committed to the University of Lindenwood for the 2019-20 season and will also suit up for Team Saskatchewan at the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer next month.

After a seven-point weekend in the Battlefords, Lind is now tied for the league scoring lead with 34 points in 18 games. She leads the league with 22 assists.

The Wildcats are currently fifth in the SFMAAAHL with a 8-9-0-1 record. They will be in Melville this weekend for two games against the Prairie Fire.

Saskatoon’s Mackena Kushniruk was the 1st Star after positing nine goals and four assists in December. Battlefords Sharks forward Madison Sansom was the 3rd Star with nine points in six games.
