Atom Broncos all even at home tournament

The Swift Current Tarpon Energy Broncos finished with a 2-2-1 record at their six-team Atom AA home tournament over the weekend.

Friday, the Broncos lost their opening game 5-2 to the Saskatoon Redwing Icewolves. Mason Fauser finished with a goal and an assist while capturing MVP honours. Kadyn Olfert also scored, while Jackson Tuplin added an assist.

The Broncos had to regroup quickly to face the West Central Wheat Kings just a couple hours later as they skated to a 4-4 tie. Kasey Gleim scored twice, while Levi Wills, Carter Moen, and Fauser all picked up two assists. Hayden Winslow, and Griffin Darby also scored, while Paxton Wallace added an assist.

Saturday, the Broncos followed up with a 7-1 victory over the Regina Cougars. Jacob Penley assisted on four goals, Daxer Schroeder added two goals and an assist, Darby finished with three assists, and Wallace chipped in a goal and an assist. Olfert, Tuplin, Fauser, and Winslow also scored, while Gleim and Wills added assists.

The Broncos added an 8-4 win over Moose Jaw on Saturday evening.

Sunday, the Broncos concluded the round robin with an 8-4 loss to the Saskatoon Wild Lightning at 8 a.m.

Olfert led the Broncos with two goals and an assist. Winslow and Wallace also scored, while Moen added an assist.
