Seven former members of the Swift Current Broncos will start the season on National Hockey League rosters.

The newest addition is 20-year-old defenseman Max Lajoie, who will open the season with the Ottawa Senators. He will be joined by former Broncos captain Zack Smith, a Maple Creek native, who recently cleared waivers and remains with the Senators.

Julius Honka remains on the Dallas Stars blueline after appearing in 58 NHL games over the past two seasons.

Jake DeBrusk will look to put together a solid sophomore campaign after posting 43 points in his rookie season with the Boston Bruins.

Dale Weise is entering his third season with the Philadelphia Flyers as he closes in on 500 NHL games played.

Cody Eakin is back for his second season with the Vegas Golden Knights after they went all the way to the Stanley Cup Final in their inaugural season.

Adam Lowry, another former Broncos captain, will be the closest to Swift Current geographically as he suits up for his fifth season with the Winnipeg Jets.
