Broncos shutout in Edmonton

The Swift Current Broncos remain winless three games into the 2018-19 Western Hockey League regular season after a 5-0 loss in Edmonton on Friday.

The Oil Kings scored goals 1:06 apart late in the first period when Ethan Cap and Brett Kemp both found the back of the net.

The Oil Kings struck for another three goals in the second period. Vince Loschiavo scored twice and Vladimir Alistrov also notched his first of the season.

Joel Hofer made 42 saves, but fell to 0–3-0-0 on the season for the Broncos. Boston Bilous improved to 2-0-0-0 with a 15-save shutout.

The Broncos will be in Red Deer on Saturday to face the Rebels (1-2-0-0) in search of their first win.
