The Swift Current Full Line Ag Broncos opened the South Saskatchewan Female Midget AA Hockey League playoffs with a 4-2 loss to the visiting Weyburn Drillers Thursday.
The Broncos (15-9-4) had finished fourth in the regular season, eight points ahead of the fifth-place Drillers (11-13-4).
Josie Calwell and Kalea Sauder each finished with a goal and an assist for the Broncos, while Chelsea Wilson added an assist.
Game two will be played Sunday in Weyburn. Game three, if necessary, would be Monday at 7 p.m. at Fairview West Arena.
