Some key members of the Swift Current Broncos are moving on in their hockey careers after being eliminated from the Western Hockey League playoffs.
Graduating goaltender Reid Dyck has committed to join Colgate University after five seasons with the Broncos. Dyck was a third round pick of the Broncos in 2019 and played in 153 regular season and 14 playoff games for the franchise. He finished with a 71-67-6-2 record with six shutouts over five seasons.
Overage defenseman Hunter Mayo has committed to Merrimack University for the 2025-26 season. Mayo led the team with four assists in the playoffs and was tied for the team lead with five points.
The 6’1’’ Saskatoon product had 19 goals and 49 points in 60 games this season. He contributed eight goals, 19 assists, and a plus 10 rating in 27 games for the Broncos after being acquired from the Red Deer Rebels at the WHL trade deadline.
Broncos leading scorer Luke Mistelbacher has signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League. The Wild are the AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild.
Mistelbacher led the Broncos with 42 goals and 93 points in 67 games this season. The undrafted product of Steinbach, MB has 162 points in 190 regular season games with the Broncos. He is ranked 72nd amongst North American Skaters going into the 2025 NHL Draft.
