Broncos end three-game slide

The Swift Current Broncos scored five unanswered goals to end a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the host Brandon Wheat Kings on New Years Day.

The Broncos trailed on Brandon goals from Nolan Flamand and Marcus Nguyen.

They responded with second period goals from Rylan Gould, Peyton Kettles, Dawson Gerwing, and Brady Birnie. Birnie scored into an empty net to clinch the win.

Reid Dyck made 32 saves to earn the win. Alex Garrett took the loss with 14 saves. 

The Broncos improved to 18-16-0-1 to remain eighth in the Eastern Conference.

The Broncos will host the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday.
