Broncos end five game slide

The Swift Current Broncos snapped a five-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over the host Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday.

The Broncos jumped ahead with a pair of Rylan Gould power play goals, a deflected point shot in the first period and a rebound effort in the second period. The Warriors replied with a Riley Thorpe goal to launch the Teddy Bear Toss. The Broncos quickly restored the two-goal lead when Dawson Gerwing scored on a rebound for the eventual game winning goal. 

The Warriors scored the only goal of the third period with a Rilen Kovacevic goal. 

Joey Rocha made 28 saves for the Broncos, while Brady Smith took the loss with 37 saves for the Warriors. 

The Broncos improved to 15-11-0-1, while Moose Jaw fell to 6-17-3-1. 

The Broncos will host their own Teddy Bear Toss game on Saturday when they host the Red Deer Rebels.
