The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires won both games over the host Battlefords Stars in the Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League.
Saturday, the Legionnaires skated to an 8-3 win, led by 35 saves from Cade Mitchell. Defenseman Jake Hargrave led the attack with two goals and one assist.
Carter Moen and Wesley Olson each added a goal and an assist, while Sam Kirwan finished with three assists.
Keegan Nash, Will Kirwan, and Connor Rieger all had two-assist outings. Jace Egland, Kasey Gleim, Hunter Wilm, and Mason Fauser also scored. Finn Harasymchuk and Trae Peterson also added assists.
Sunday, the Legionnaires completed the sweep with a 5-1 win behind a 26-save performance from Berney Weston. Egland led the way with two goals and one assist. Mason Fauser registered one goal and one assist, while Hargrave and Porter Nickason each had two-assist outings. Moen and Gleim also scored. Peterson and Will Kirwan added single helpers.
The Legionnaires improved to 5-1-0, while the Stars fell to 2-6-0.
The Legionnaires will visit the Notre Dame Hounds on Saturday.
