Broncos trade for overage forward

The Swift Current Broncos have bolstered their forward ranks by trading for the Prince George Cougars’ leading scorer.

The Broncos addressed their open overage spot by acquiring 5’11’ forward Carlin Dezainde. In return, the Broncos sent forward Van Eger, a second round pick in 2025, and a fourth round pick in 2027 to the Cougars.

Dezainde was leading the Cougars with six goals and 10 points in seven games this season. He finished last season with 25 goals and 31 assists in 51 regular season games. The Calgary product added six points in 15 playoff games last season.

Eger had three goals and seven assists in 72 games with the Broncos.

The Broncos will host the Calgary Hitmen on Wednesday.
