Colts Soccer rounding into form

The Swift Current Comp. Colts soccer team played three matches in Prince Albert over the weekend.

They fought to a 3-3 draw with Prince Albert St. Mary, defeated Prince Albert Carlton 2-1, and then lost 2-0 in an exhibition match for the teams’ younger players.

Griffin Striker and Nicholas Manzara both scored twice, while Shepherd Manzara also scored.

The Colts were also in Moose Jaw on Tuesday where they defeated AE Peacock 12-3 in league action. Striker and Nathan Odiyo netted three goals apiece, while James Dicks scored twice.

Cole Ferguson, Amanti Eticha, and Camden Newton also scored. John Delfin and Isaac Ferguson shared responsibilities in goal

“We have a young team that has a lot of talent and it’s good to see them coming together in time for the playoff push in October,” said Chris Garner.

“We’re looking at improving ball movement. It’s great to see where it’s going,” added Mike Gurski.

“It’s great that we’re getting better each day and looking forward to carrying momentum into regional playoffs,” said captain Griffin Striker.

Next action for the Colts will be on Saturday in Moose Jaw for a double header against Yorkton Regional and Yorkton Sacred Heart.
