The Swift Current Broncos traded overage forward Connor Hvidston to the Calgary Hitmen on Thursday.

Hvidston was a veteran of 170 Western Hockey League regular season games with the Broncos, totalling 61 goals and 95 assists over the past three seasons. The Tisdale product was a seventh round pick of the Broncos in 2019 and was drafted in the fifth round of the 2022 NHL Draft by the Anaheim Ducks.

In return, the Broncos received veteran forward Connor Dale, along with three picks over the next two drafts. Dale, 19, had five goals and 11 assists in 64 games with the Vancouver Giants and the Hitmen last season.

The Broncos secured second and fourth round picks in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft, as well as a second round pick in the 2026 Draft.

The trade leaves the Broncos with three overage players on the roster in defensemen Zach Turner and Eric Johnston and goaltender Reid Dyck.

The Broncos host the Saskatoon Blades on Friday to open the regular season.
