The Swift Current Comp. Senior Colts volleyball team travelled to Prince Albert this past weekend and attended the 16-team St. Mary Invitational tournament.

On Friday they came out of their pool ranked first with a 3-0 record, with wins over Saskatoon Centennial, St. Mary’s grade 9/10’s, and Meadow Lake.

On Saturday, they rattled off three victories in a row to get to the final. Their first playoff game in the morning they beat the Prince Albert Carlton Crusaders, then the quarter-final match they won against Yorkton.

In a three-set battle they beat Saskatoon Aden Bowman in the semi-final, but lost in a close contest to the host St. Mary Marauders in the final (17-25, 25-23, 10-15).

The Colts will be in action again next weekend in Saskatoon at the U of S Huskie tournament.
