The Swift Current Broncos added experience and leadership to their blueline corps with a trade on July 25.
The Broncos acquired Prince Albert Raiders captain Eric Johnston in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2028 WHL Prospects Draft.
Johnston, a 6’0’’ product of Regina, has played 192 games in the Western Hockey League over three full seasons, registering 10 goals, 40 assists, and 95 penalty minites. He also has one goal and one assist in 10 career playoff games.
He was originally selected in the sixth round of the 2019 draft by the Edmonton Oil Kings before being traded to Prince Albert during the 2021-22 season.
