Poulter signs a deal with the Devils

Former Swift Current Broncos netminder Isaac Poulter has signed a two-year entry level contract with the New Jersey Devils with an annual average value of $812,500. The contract begins this season and covers next season as well.

The 6’2” Winnipeg native has a 14-5-1-3 record with the Utica Comets in the American Hockey League this season. He also has a 2.54 goals against average and a .913 save percentage and three shutouts.

Poulter played with the Broncos from 2018-22. He finished his career second in Broncos franchise history with 4,411 saves and third with 7,976 minutes played. The former sixth round selection also won three straight team Humanitarian Awards and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player in his final three seasons.

The Comets are seventh in the AHL’s North Division with a 19-19-4-3 record. They will host the Belleville Senators on Saturday at the Adirondack Bank Center. Former Bronco Justin Dowling has 21 points in 36 games for the Comets this season.
