The Swift Current Tarpon Energy Broncos opened the South East Atom Tier I Hockey League playoffs with a decisive 6-2 win over the visiting Weyburn Wings Friday. They led the opening game of the best-of-three series 3-2 after 40 minutes before breaking the game open with three goals in the final frame.
Ryder Rommelaere led the attack with a goal and three assists, followed by two goals and an assist from Kade Stringer and a three-assist outing from defenseman Makstr McIntyre.
Ryder Woods, Parker Rondeau, and Carter Tuplin each added a goal and an assist. Dane Williams also added a single helper.
Game two is Sunday in Estevan.
