Wyrostok leads Broncos to second straight road win

Caleb Wyrostok’s first Western Hockey League hat trick led the Swift Current Broncos to a 3-1 win over his hometown Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday.

The Broncos won a second straight road game as Wyrostok scored in all three periods, his ninth goal of the season into an empty net in the final second of regulation.

Matthew Kieper made 29 saves to help keep the Tigers at bay. Hunter St. Martin scored the only goal for the home team early in the third period.

Ethan McCallum took the loss with 26 saves on 28 shots

The Broncos improved to 18-14-1-2 to move into fifth spot in the Eastern Conference. The Tigers remain second at 22-10-2-0. The Broncos are now 3-0-1-0 against the Tigers this season.

The Broncos will host the sixth-place Red Deer Rebels on Saturday.
