Three Swift Current athletes were on the track for Saskatchewan at the Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships in Sherbrooke, Quebec, an event featuring over 900 athletes in the under-16 and under-18 categories.
Olami Akinfiresoye won silver in the U18 Female High Jump. She cleared the bar at 1.62 metres to place second behind the University of Toronto’s Natalia Bannenberg, who cleared 1.64 metres on her third attempt.
Kyler Duclos placed eighth in the U16 Boys Triple Jump with a top effort of 11.84 metres. Duclos also ran the third leg for Saskatchewan in the 1,600 Sprint Medley Relay as they placed eighth in 3:52.11.
Carter Tuplin helped Saskatchewan place eighth in the U18 4×100 Metre Relay in 44.88 seconds. He also helped Saskatchewan place eighth in the 4×400 Metre Relay in 3:32.67.
