Swift Current’s Chase Coward has been named the WHL Goaltender of the Week after two impressive wins last week.
The Red Deer Rebels netminder defeated the Swift Current Broncos and Medicine Hat Tigers last week while posting a 1.00 goals against average and a .944 save percentage.
Friday, he earned a 13-save shutout over the Tigers. Coward followed up with 21 saves on Saturday in a 6-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos.
Coward has a 19-9-0-2 record with a 2.39 GAA and a .909 save percentage this season.
The Rebels are currently third in the Eastern Conference with a 41-17-2-2 record.
