U15 Broncos fighting from behind again after road loss

The Swift Current PureChem Broncos will be playing for their playoff lives after a 5-1 loss to the host Prairie Storm.

The Broncos lost the opening game of the best-of-three Saskatchewan U15 AA Hockey League South Division final at the Balgonie Stardome Arena on Wednesday. Jace Egland scored the only goal with assists from Wesley Olson and Will Kirwan. Berney Weston took the loss with 31 saves.

Luke McKechnie earned the win with 31 saves. Luke Moroz scored twice during a five-point outing for the Storm. Carter Geysen scored twice, while Cruz Klapak also tallied.

The Broncos will host the Prairie Storm on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Innovation Credit Union iplex. The Broncos also trailed the semi-final series after losing the opener to the Regina Aces before fighting back with two wins.
