Poulter blanks Tigers on the road

The Swift Current Broncos won their third straight game on Saturday when Isaac Poulter shutout the host Medicine Hat Tigers in a 2-0 victory.

Josh Filmon opened the scoring for a second straight night with his 22nd goal of the season in the first period.

Connor Hvidston scored for a second straight game as well when he added an insurance marker 4:01 into the third period.

Poulter stopped all 19 shots he faced for his fourth shutout of the season. Garin Bjorklund took the loss with 27 saves.

The Broncos moved into eighth in the Eastern Conference with a 23-30-5-2 record. The Tigers remain last in the WHL with a 11-43-3-1 record.
