Broncos snap losing streak with road win over Raiders

Karson King scored twice and Isaac Poulter made 38 saves as the Swift Current Broncos snapped a five-game losing streak with a 6-3 win over the Prince Albert Raiders on Wednesday.

The Broncos trailed 2-1 in the first period before scoring four consecutive goals to take control of the game. Kayden Sadhra-Kang, Carter Stebbings, Mathew Ward, and Raphael Pelletier also scored for the Broncos.

King scored goals 11 seconds apart to put the Broncos ahead for good.

Sloan Stanick, Evan Herman, and Nolan Allan replied for the Raiders. Tikhon Chaika took the loss with 10 saves on 14 shots over 26:19. Max Hildebrand made eight saves on nine shots over 31:54.

Ward and Stebbings both scored on the power play as the Broncos struggling power play unit finished two-for-three on the man-advantage.

The Broncos remain in 11th place with a 21-30-5-2 record, but are now only two points out of a playoff spot. Prince Albert dropped to 23-29-3-1, one point ahead of the Broncos for 10th with two games in hand.

The Broncos will host the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday with 10 games remaining in the regular season.
