Gull Lake’s Baylee Kirwan is one of 59 players still in the running for the Canada’s Under-18 National Women’s Hockey Team. The 2003-born forward will participate in the annual summer camp, which will be held virtually this year.

She is one of 30 forwards on the camp roster, which also included nine goaltenders and 20 defensemen. Forward Neena Brick (Regina) was the only other Saskatchewan player to garner an invite.

The Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcats forward was named the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League’s Fiona Smith Most Sportsmanlike Player and was named to the Second All-Star Team this past season, which was cut short due to COVID-19. She finished second in the league with 29 goals and was third with 41 points while being whistled for only 10 penalty minutes.

This marks the third consecutive season that a member of the Wildcats has been invited to the U18 camp after older sister Taylor Kirwan was invited in 2018 and Taylor Lind (Shaunavon) was invited in 2019.

With one season of U18 eligibility remaining, Baylee Kirwan has already committed to the Robert Morris University Colonials for the 2021-22 season.
