The Southwest Booster continues a newspaper legacy in Swift Current which dates back over a century.
The first edition of the Booster was printed by Swift Litho-Printing Ltd. on May 8, 1969, and our free distribution paper has grown over the years to now boast a circulation of 13,700 across the Southwest.
Swift Litho-Printing, founded by Ron Corrins in 1957, was the first company in the province to purchase a computerized typesetter to enhance the printing process.
The Booster acquired the Swift Current Sun in January 1997, with the merging of the papers continuing a newspaper legacy dating back to 1904.
The Southwest Booster is a free weekly local newspaper published every Thursday. The Booster covers local news, sports, agriculture news and other items important to Swift Current and surrounding area.
