Doubles high school curling provincials was held in Prince Albert. The Hazlet doubles team (Tessa Todd, Braden Baumann, Coach Tarryl Todd) lost their first match to Oxbow, but regrouped to beat Maidstone, Unity and PA St. Mary 1. That moved Hazlet into the semifinal against Gladmar. It was a back and forth high scoring game with Gladmar coming out on top. Hazlet was relegated into the bronze medal game, where they lost 7-5 to PA St. Mary 2. Braden and Tessa finished fourth in the province, an amazing accomplishment at the first ever high school doubles provincials.
The SCCHS mixed team (Shane Cornelson, Aryn Thibault, Troy Oakman, Emily Phan, Coach Ron Bailey/Jeff Chambers) played in Unity. They started with an opening round loss to Yorkton, then the dynamic foursome went on a winning streak. Swift Current beat Watson, Moose Jaw Central, Canora and Saskatoon Tommy Douglas on their way to the Gold medal game. The final was a match up against Yorkton, the same opponent that gave them a first round loss. The Colts/Ardens were not going to be denied a second opportunity to score a win.
